MEHRAN MOKHTARPOUR
Musician Portfolio
I am singing and playing from the heart of Tehran, trying to be the loudest and the most fitting representative of my country and of my dreams. I make songs in English and French, and currently hold the record for the only official Anglo-Francophone Iranian artist in the world. My first full-length will be released worldwide soon…
Some dream, some don’t. I ain’t the second.

ABOUT ME
An Unfinished Leap of Faith
I am extremely misanthropically shy. Music has always been the outlet to hide and express myself. The oxymoron cast soul to my unfinished dreams and gave them the form of notes, sounds and voices. I am an artist…what I make is what I am.
Born in November 1988, I picked up the guitar and never put it back down. Started writing songs in the early teenage years. My first song ‘Where the Sidewalk Ends’ started a career that ironically took me on a never-ending journey.
Did my first French EP ‘Avec Les Anges’ in 2001 and won the Francophone Award of that year. My second EP ‘Parmi Des Diables’ and the short story with the same name got me a scholarship to represent my country in the DARC festival in 2014 and my latest EP which will soon turn into a full-length ‘Metropole’ is going to fully represent, for now, all my artistic intents.
I am currently working as the singer and songwriter of the first official Rock band of Iran ‘Piclavier’ and our first album is getting released domestically within the next few months.
I play the guitar, piano and a bit of ukulele and flute. Learned how to produce music on my own and I work in my own small home studio ‘Dark Room’. I do almost everything on almost every song I have made.
My first poetry book ‘Mes Petits Secret’ is getting released in a few months internationally.
Archimedes said ‘Give me a lever and a place to stand and I’ll move the earth’. I stole that motto and changed the lever to guitar.
Here we go…
